Handmade in Switzerland. The furniture collection was developed by Daniel Hunziker for the Hotel Beau Séjour Lucerne, Le Petit Grand Hotel. It is available as a small series and can be ordered individually. The manufacturer is the traditional Swiss furniture manufacturer Girsberger in Bützberg BE. The BS Collection combines contemporary design and valuable craftsmanship. In addition, Daniel Hunziker develops designer furniture in small series for the Service Station and partner companies.

The history of de Sede originated in 1962 in a small but fine saddler's workshop in Klingnau, Switzerland. The craftsmen of this manufactory always did their utmost to process leather into seating furniture of the highest quality. They used their years of experience and all their care to create unique quality for handcrafted leather furniture. In 1965, the family business was transformed into a joint-stock company, de Sede AG, but the original credo continued to be consistently adhered to. The company developed rapidly from then on: top designers of international stature were called in to create the seating furniture. Refined designs, skilfully implemented with traditional and precise Swiss craftsmanship, quickly earned the brand a worldwide reputation.

USM Haller

USM was founded in 1885 by Ulrich Schärer as a metal and locksmith company. The company headquarters and factory hall are still located in Münsingen today. In the first decades of the 20th century, USM specialised in window fittings, then in decorative hinges and precision-manufactured ironmongery. Paul Schärer joined the company in 1961 - meaning that the Schärer family was already running USM in the third generation. Based on his engineering studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, he was determined to modernise the company - and began building his own USM production facility and headquarters. He commissioned the Swiss architect Fritz Haller to design a new factory and company building. Haller relied on a modular steel frame construction system with the necessary flexibility for different production processes and possibilities for structural expansion. In 1963 Haller and Schärer developed a furniture construction system adapted to the modularity and versatility of the new building. This furniture, like the buildings, was not based on individual pieces of furniture but on a system of adaptable, rearrangeable steel modules to meet the diverse requirements of the company's factory and office space. At the heart of the system was the elegant and sophisticated spherical connection.

Embru Works Ltd

In 1904, Embru was founded as an iron and metal bed factory in Rüti. The 1930s saw the introduction of modern tubular steel furniture and collaboration with designers and architects from Marcel Breuer to Werner Max Moser. It was then that the first height-adjustable school desks were created. After the Second World War, hospital and nursing beds were further developed. At the end of the seventies, "ergodata", one of the world's most successful office furniture ranges, was created. Embru produces quality furniture with functional design. Form and safety are key factors for us. Embru furniture is durable and of high quality and thus designed for environmental compatibility. Production in Switzerland guarantees this claim. Around 200 employees work for Embru at several locations.

Founded in 1880 in Horgen near Zurich and expanded in 1902 to include the Glarus factory, möbelfabrik horgenglarus is the oldest chair and table manufacturer in Switzerland and has been a world leader in furniture production in terms of design and quality for over 135 years. Le Corbusier, for example, presented chairs made by horgenglarus for his "Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau" at the "Exposition internationale des Arts décoratifs" in Paris as representative examples of a contemporary and forward-looking concept of home decor.
This innovative basic orientation has not changed to this day: The focus at horgenglarus is still on the characteristic combination of form and function. This is recognised: classicism, perfection of form, timelessness and high quality of workmanship are the criteria by which horgenglarus has been awarded the title "World Class - Made in Switzerland".

Strässle Switzerland AG

In 1886, after long years of apprenticeship and travel, the master saddler Gottlieb Strässle opened a saddlery, upholstery and carriage-making business in Kirchberg in Toggenburg. His son, who had trained as an interior decorator in Nice, took over his father's business in 1929. In the same year, he exhibited his first contemporary collection of upholstered furniture at the Swiss Sample Fair in Basel. This was also the beginning of our specialisation in the manufacture of pioneering seating furniture. In 1930, his brother Alois also joined the company. Numerous models from our collection are listed as important designs in the book "Furniture that Made History": the "Eichberger Collection", the "Arco" and "Nonna" models by Paul Tuttle, and the "Sitwell" furniture programme by Hans Bellmann, constructed exclusively from fibreglass and polyester, as well as the "Divan" model by S.L. Bensinger. Production still follows the same principles today: Sophisticated design, high-quality materials paired with top craftsmanship. High-quality aniline leather, perfectly finished by experts, offers unique seating pleasure with a dreamlike feel.

Porcelain factory Langenthal

The Langenthal porcelain factory (called "Porzi") was founded in 1906 in Langenthal in the Upper Aargau region of Bern. The first years were characterised by the Heimatstil, which was introduced by the painter and artistic advisor Rudolf Münger. Scattered flowers and flower garlands, soldier and costume figures corresponded to the national style. The manufactory wanted to offer products that met local tastes. When the artistic director Fernand Renfer joined the manufactory, it embarked on the path to modernity. Floral decorations on a colourful background, which echoed Art Nouveau, very soon gave way to stylised Art Deco motifs that allowed the immaculate white of the porcelain to shine through. This period between the two world wars is one of the most glamorous production periods. Today, it is highly sought after by collectors. Langenthal had been a member of the Swiss Werkbund since 1925, a movement that demanded the compatibility of aesthetic criteria and industrial production techniques. In addition, there should be a correspondence between form and function. In 1956, the artistic form and decor studio was established. Fernand Renfer was assisted as director by his son Pierre. Apart from designing original and contemporary models, the studio developed a sophisticated artistic department. Collaboration with freelance designers, painters and sculptors also took place in the studio.

The company was founded as a turnery in Zurich in 1889. Over the decades, an internationally active group of companies has grown up. The focus is on furniture solutions for the office, contract and residential sectors. After the early death of the founder, Heinrich Girsberger, Wilhelm Girsberger continued to run the business from 1919. The company soon began to flourish. Gradually, the company expanded and relocated within Zurich. A new era began with the move from Zurich to Bützberg. A new company headquarters was built. With modern machinery in bright rooms, optimal conditions were created for advanced working conditions, production methods and series production.

The rubber tree or Indian rubber tree(Ficus elastica) is a species of plant from the genusFicus, to which edible figs also belong, in the mulberry family (Moraceae). It is classified in the group of banyan figs, which also includes the poplar fig (banyan tree), which is significant in Buddhism. Ficus elastica has its original home in an area from north-east India (Assam) to Indonesia (Sumatra and Java). Today, however, it is a widespread houseplant as well as an ornamental shrub in the tropics and subtropics, often planted in parks, gardens and as a street tree. Ficus elastica is used worldwide as an ornamental plant, outdoors in warm areas and as a houseplant in cooler climates. There are several varieties, including those with brightly variegated leaves, i.e. white-green leaves. The rubber tree prefers bright sunlight, but can also manage with little light. It is tolerant of drought, but prefers moist soil without waterlogging. It grows particularly well in humid, tropical environments. This species and its varieties are propagated vegetatively by cuttings or rarely by mossing. Sowing is possible. Tissue culture can also be used for a fast, large propagation rate. The white milky sap ("latex"), which comes out in case of injuries and contains natural rubber, can be used for rubber production. However, practically only the rubber tree(Hevea brasiliensis) is used for commercial latex extraction. However, the rubber tree is not closely related to it.
